Maple Street Biscuit Company (MSBC) is a fast-casual breakfast and lunch restaurant. We have a mission to help people, serve others, and be a part of the community. We operate on four (4) core principles: Comfort Food with a Modern Twist Made Consistently, Gracious Service, Immaculately Clean, and Sustainable Business. 
 
MSBC is looking for a Community Leader (CL). The CL is responsible for leading the operations and developing the people responsible for all the food, beverage, and retail at their Community Store.

Operations
  • Has strong attention to detail
  • Responsible for guest experience both in and outside the building
  • Holds team accountable to steps of service to deliver an excellent guest experience
  • Ensures team members have the tools necessary to complete their jobs
  • Ensures quality standards are maintained at all times
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with their Mission Coach, guests, and subcontractors
  • Regularly obtains feedback from guests to improve operations
  • Supports and communicates Company initiatives
  • Respond and assist in any guest service issues
  • Ensures that daily walkthroughs are being conducted in both FOH and BOH daily
  • Ensures all operations comply with Maple Street Biscuit Company guidelines
  • Creates and executes marketing plans to build sales within their community
  • Holds and documents weekly meetings with their team to be informational, fact-finding, idea-generating, and problem-solving to regularly obtain feedback to improve operations
Finance
  • Achieves daily sales while focusing on intentionally growing sales year over year
  • Implements cost controls as needed to achieve positive financial results
  • Submits weekly forecast
  • Owner of location P&L and EBITDA expectations
  • Achieves assigned budget goals
  • Oversees execution of required daily reporting
  • Oversees completion of required reports and compiles month-end reporting
Controls
  • Thoroughly and accurately uses applicable MSBC systems (Margin Edge, Revel, FusionPrep, and more)
  • Ensures that all security, safety, and sanitation standards are achieved
  • Employs good safety and sanitation practices
  • Follows and enforces responsible alcohol service policies
  • Ensures team members adhere to Maple Street Biscuit Company guidelines as stated in the team member training manual and employee handbook
  • Oversees control of all inventories, product cost, cash handling, and purchasing
Leadership and Internal Relationship Building
  • Uses all performance management tools, including development plans, to provide guidance and feedback to the team
  • Uses engagement strategies to recognize, motivate, and celebrate individuals and teams delivering outstanding performance at their Community Store
  • Creates the vision of the location by sharing stories and history with team members, managers, and guests
  • Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale
  • Utilizes new leader transition sessions to ensure success with managers a few months after taking on new roles
  • Conducts regular scheduled meetings to ensure lines of communication are open between management and team members
  • Conducts quarterly Feedback and Action Planning sessions with the management team to assess how things are going from a higher level and work on continuously improving the business and work environment
  • Interviews, hires, trains, and develops team members according to Maple Street Biscuit Company guidelines
  • Plans and manages talent resources to support normal business levels and growth; This includes all hourly team members, leads, and ACLs
  • Sets the tone of the store with a positive attitude, creating positive morale throughout the store 
  • Mentors ACLs and Team Leads to develop their skills and leadership abilities
Required Skills
  • Valid Driver's License 
  • Able to communicate effectively with the leadership team, guests, and team members
  • English reading, writing, math, and computer skills required
  • Ability to taste and evaluate all food and beverage products
  • Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to; slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts, and strains
  • Must be able to reach, lift, stoop, bend, and perform extensive standing and walking (including stairs) throughout the shift
  • Ability to use hands in using office equipment, including the computer system
  • Ability to talk and hear to conduct phone correspondence
  • Close vision and focus capabilities to view computer screens and company documents
  • Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds at times
  • Ability to be on feet for up to eight (8) hours a day
  • Ability to work around loud noises and in a fast-paced environment
Required Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years experience leading and developing a team
  • Experience managing a tight-margin operation
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and sales experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership 
Compensation: $54,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
